This October, Gallery 12 will smell faintly of spray paint — deliberately. For our autumn exhibition, six muralists are working at full street scale inside the museum, and we decided early on not to hide the process. Scaffolds, sketches, and paint cans are part of the show.
Why bring the street inside?
Muralism has always been public art: fast, large, and unafraid. Inside a gallery, that same energy meets visitors who can stand inches from the surface — close enough to see every drip and correction. The scale stays; the distance collapses.
Myths, retold in spray and gold
Each artist chose an old story of transformation — figures who defied gods, crossed seas, or changed shape — and rewrote it in today's visual language. Expect twelve-foot gazes, wheat-paste legends, and at least one wall finished live, in front of you, on opening weekend.
Come watch it happen
Members book from September 1 and general sale opens September 15. Opening weekend brings live painting, courtyard sets, and the artists themselves — come and watch a wall become a myth.
