On View · Jun 12 – Sep 28Horizons Beyond the Frame
Two hundred years of landscape painting — from pastoral idylls to misted mountain passes.
The Land, Seen Anew
Fifty landscapes trace how painters learned to take the outdoors seriously — first as backdrop, then as subject, finally as state of mind. Golden-age pastorals give way to open-air sketching, and the journey ends high in imagined mountains wreathed in mist.
A daylight gallery with garden views was chosen deliberately: step between canvas and courtyard and compare notes.

Walk Through the Weather
The Pastoral Opening
Sunlit valleys and grazing herds from the golden age of landscape — the countryside as painters wished it to be.
Painted Outdoors
Rapid oil sketches made in wind, rain, and glare, shown beside the grand studio canvases they grew into.
The Mist Room
A cool, hushed finale of mountain passes and fog — sit awhile; the paintings change as your eyes adjust.
"The mist room is pure calm. I sat on the bench for half an hour and completely forgot the city outside."
— Guest review, July visit
