On View · Feb 06 – May 18Voices of the Modern Canvas
Sixty restless works from 1900 to today — the century when painting learned to argue, dream, and start over.
A Century That Refused to Sit Still
From the first fractured portraits of the avant-garde to the vast colour fields of the post-war years, this exhibition follows painters who tore up the rulebook — and then tore up the pieces. Large-scale canvases hang beside intimate studies, so you can feel how quickly modern art moved, and how loudly it spoke.
Audio guides, sketching stations, and a slow-looking lounge invite you to spend real time with the work rather than rushing past it.

Three Rooms You Will Remember
The Breakthrough Wall
Fourteen canvases from the wild early decades — fractured faces, impossible colours, and the shock of the new, exactly as first audiences felt it.
Fields of Colour
A dim, quiet room of monumental abstractions built for slow looking. Benches, low light, and paintings the size of weather.
The Studio Corner
Sketchbooks, brushes, and film of artists at work — plus easels where you can try the techniques yourself every weekend.
"I came for twenty minutes and stayed for three hours. The colour-field room alone is worth the trip across town."
